For its new convertible Eos Volkswagen has realised the most ambitious foldaway hardtop on the market. Complexity and characteristics of this roof in interaction with car body and side windows implicate increased demands to the window regulator system in relation to repeatable adjustment and stiffness. This especially applies to the control electronics of the window regulator systems and, needless to say, to the anti-trap system.

The development task for window regulators of such a demanding convertible is a smooth lowering of the windows on every door and/or roof opening and a consistent lifting of the windows when the roof is closed again to shut the car. In addition, intelligent anti-trap technology must provide protection against injuries and window regulator adjustment time at customer´s assembly line must be minimized.
