Herr District President W. Schmied visits the Headquarters of the worldwide-operating Küster-Group

On the occasion of a visit to the Küster-Group in Ehringshausen on September 23rd 2003 District President W. Schmied was welcomed by the Shareholders Mr. Dieter Küster sen. and Mr. Klaus Küster as well as by the Managing Directors Mr. Dieter Küster jun. and Mr. Thorsten Connemann. After a short corporate presentation in the Headquarters of Küster Holding GmbH a plant tour was conducted showing the company in practical operation. At every turn it became obvious that the guest looked into the subject as a practical-minded man, not surprisingly since Mr. Schmied is a skilled mechanical engineer.

Not only to the trainees´ surprise Mr. Schmied took a workpiece in hand and examined it in a workman-like manner.
The District President was deeply impressed by the high level of globalisation, the technological product and process developments as well as by the market-leading position of the Küster-Group within the European Automotive Supply Industry.
In addition to the issue of a simplified bureaucratic handling of corporate applications further topics were the improvement of the business environment for worldwide-operating companies as well as the situation of school leavers and entrants.
Particularly with regard to the standard of education and knowledge of school leavers the Küster Managers as well as the Training Supervisor and the also attending Chairman of the Workers´ Council expressed their concerns.
The ongoing globalisation of the Automotive Industry combined with the actual hardly positive discussions concerning the location Germany and the resulting problems of the domestic market were further topics of the conversation.
The Küster Management was pleasantly surprised to meet an official person standing out of the normal “pre-election visits” by his pragmatism and technical knowledge.
