Introduction of teamwork for KÜSTER ADS GmbHSince the introduction of teamwork for KÜSTER Automotive Control Systems GmbH in 2002 and its mainly positive evaluation, this reorganisation became an objective for KÜSTER Automotive Door Systems (ADS) as well. At the end of 2003 first talks started concerning how and when teamwork could be organised.
A concept, adjusted to the special requirements of ADS production, was developed. One of the objectives of the concept: Not only quantity, as so far, but also quality, tidiness and cleanliness would be considered in wages in future. In February 2004 this concept was approved by the management.
All members of the staff that would be affected by this changed were informed in a meeting in the Volkshalle Ehringshausen on Monday, March 15th, 2004. The attendants were informed about the issue "reorganisation of production in 2004" by Carmelo Gutiérrez, Technical Director, Thomas Hartmann, Production Manager, and Susanne Schütz, Staff Executive.
The crucial factor for wages is the total performance of a group in a total month. Male and female workers are paid in the same wage group. One group includes for example in a three-shift-system the workers of all three shifts. Teamwork at ADS started on May 1st, 2004, with a total of 13 groups.
Some organisational changes that were necessary for a successful start of teamwork have been effected in plant agreements with the works council and we hope that teamwork can now start with satisfying results for all persons concerned.
We trust that we are well prepared now by this reorganisation of ADS production and that we are fit for the future at the location Germany.
