"KÜSTER Automotive (Control Systems) has advertised the qualities of Hesse as an attractive business location far beyond the German borders", Mr. Weidemann stated.

The aim of the "Hessen-Champion" competition is to honour companies for outstanding achievement. This competition looks for Hessian companies which have a leading position in their business field, with a product or with services on the European or international market or which have established more than the average number of new jobs or apprenticeship training positions in Hesse. The prizes are awarded in the categories international market leader, job motor and training.

The second prize was presented to the Schunk-Group in Heuchelheim, that also received the special prize "training". b+m surface systems GmbH, located in Eiterfeld, ranked third. The "job motor" award is shared by Fraport AG, Frankfurt, and the DaimlerChrysler plant in Kassel.

For the fifth time the initiators – the Hessian Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Federation of Hessian Employers Associations (Vhu) – have appreciated special corporate achievement with the "Hessen-Champion" award. The competition is part of the location campaign "Hesse. Here is the future". This campaign is a joint effort of the government of the federal state Hesse and the Hessian economy to promote the business location Hesse and to expand its outstanding position as one of the strongest economic regions in Europe.
