KÜSTER Automotive Control Systems GmbH is "Supplier of the Year 2003" for Continental Teves
On July 8th, 2004 KÜSTER Automotive Control Systems GmbH received the "Supplier of the Year 2003" award by Dr. Ralf Kramer, member of the management of the Continental Automotive Systems Group (CAS). This is the second supplier award the company receives within one month.
By the award "Supplier of the Year" the CAS-Group honours suppliers with special performance regarding quality, delivery reliability and competitiveness. KÜSTER ACS was awarded for the field "Electronic Brake and Security Systems" and considers this award as a recognition of the good and successful cooperation of the two companies in the field of the Electric Parking Brake.
The innovative KÜSTER Electric Parking Brake replaces the conventional parking brake. First production launch was in 2001 for the Renault Vel Satis. The appropriate electronic control unit was developed in collaboration with KÜSTER´s partner Continental Temic up to start of production. Today about 2,000 electric parking brakes are sent out from the KÜSTER plant in Ehringshausen every day. Further projects will be ready for production within the next two years.
For this reason KÜSTER has made considerable investment with regard to buildings and assembly facilities and has an active share in the creation and support of jobs at its location Ehringshausen.
Continental Automotive Systems (CAS), a division of the Continental-Group, has about 20,000 employees and an annual sales of about EUR 4.6 billion. The production programme includes brake systems, stability systems and chassis control systems as well as air suspension systems and sensor technology for automotive applications.
