Control cable systems and modules
The development of control cable systems and modules is currently governed by escalating demands in terms of driver comfort, limited packaging space, and growing complexity of the assembly concepts and processes, coupled with reduced assembly times on the automotive manufacturer's assembly line, not to mention calls for the reduction or even complete elimination of servicing intervals for passenger cars.
Mechanical parking brake systemsDepending on the customer's requirements and specifications, in addition to the handbrake lever and the relevant fixing components, the fully mechanical parking brake systems developed by KÜSTER also contain a number of design parts such as handles, push-buttons or covers, together with components for automatic initial and servicing adjustment and permanent cable length adjustment.

The handbrake module with single-control cable system presented below is just one example of KÜSTER's innovative strength in the area of mechanical brake systems. This KÜSTER development is distinguished by the following features:
- User-friendly design of the force/distance ratio
- Optimum ergonomic design and positioning of the handbrake lever
- Efficient use of the packaging space
- User-friendly assembly and servicing
- High level of flexibility in terms of adaptation to the respective vehicle,
because the transmission ratio can be adjusted by altering just one component.
In recent years, gearshift and selector cables have almost completely replaced the old rigid gearshift linkages. Because the cable construction facilitates flexible, multi-axis displacement within the vehicle, the task of transferring force/distance from the gearstick to the gearbox is now achieved far more efficiently. The designer has additional freedom, both when designing the transmission system, and when designing adjacent assemblies. This effect is further enhanced by the reduced packaging space requirements and lower weight. |
