Wire rope technology

Steel wire strands and steel wire ropes are key machine components in a wide variety of applications, such as carrying, materials handling, tensioning, lifting and holding. At temperatures ranging from –40°C to +250°C, cables offer reliable functioning, high load-bearing capacities, and a long service life. They have excellent handling properties, thanks to special pre- and post-forming, and are indispensable in the creation of a wide range of wire products.

The steel wire rope unites more technical benefits than virtually any other machine component, including flexibility, elasticity, a high load-bearing capacity and wear-resistance, coupled with favourable bending fatigue strength properties. In the manufacture of cables, their multiple character in particular means that the particular requirements of the technical environment can be addressed both structurally and in material-specific terms.
