Eco-Management
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION was and still is a top priority for KÜSTER.
|
KÜSTER has progressed away from conventional, reactive environmental protection in favour of sustainable development, in keeping with its philosophy of sustainability. For example, substitution testing is now carried out on all the raw materials and supplies used, with the aim of eliminating or restricting the use of all critical components in future. The in-house list of negative substances includes well over 10,000 materials, thereby exceeding the statutory requirements. |

Similarly, all new products, plants and processes are examined and evaluated vis-à-vis their environmental impacts, and all existing plants are monitored both internally and by external bodies, in accordance with the statutory requirements.
|
The predecessor of today's KÜSTER Holding GmbH, Küster & Co. GmbH, already had an eco-management system validated to EMAS Regulation 1836/93 (EEC). Once restructuring of the group was complete, the eco-management system was adapted in line with the new conditions and validated / certified by environmental experts according to EMAS II Regulation EG 761/2001 and ISO 14001. |
